Experimental Engineering
The course is designed to teach students new material quickly. This course taught basic circuit design, mathematical modeling, sensor testing, experiment designing, and working with a tight deadline. During the second half of the course, teams designed an experiment to test with rockets and sensors.
Rocket Measuring Light Intensity
I was the group leader in our team of four. We built an Arreaux rocket and completed four successful launches with G and H motors. I designed and built the circuitry to measure actinic flux during each launch. I also helped write the MATLAB code that we used to analyze the data we collected.
Our sensors included photodiodes, color sensors, and an IMU whose data was recorded on a datalogger. We also flew a Pnut altimeter and video camera.
